Cowgirls Set To Host Texas Tech
January 24, 2006 | Cowgirl Basketball
Oklahoma State's women's basketball team (6-11, 0-6) will look to snap its six-game losing streak on Wednesday night when it plays host to Texas Tech (8-8, 3-2) at 7 p.m. inside Gallagher-Iba Arena. The Cowgirls are coming off a loss at Kansas on Sunday, while the Lady Raiders knocked off Nebraska on Saturday in Lubbock.
Scouting The Lady Raiders
Texas Tech comes to Stillwater in hopes of logging its first road win of the season. The Lady Raiders are 0-5 this season away from United Spirit Arena after losing their last road contest at Oklahoma on Jan. 18. Tech enters the midweek matchup with OSU fresh off a 61-59 home win over Nebraska last weekend. LaToya Davis is averaging a double-double on the season at 19.8 points and 10.9 rebounds per game. The senior is second in the Big 12 this season with 10 double-doubles, fourth in scoring and second in rebounding. Erin Grant has dished out a team-best 102 assists and ranks third in the league at 6.4 per game. The Lady Raiders lead the all-time series against the Cowgirls by a 20-12 count and have won 17 of the last 19. Both OSU wins during that span came in Stillwater with the last being its 88-87 double overtime triumph on Jan. 24, 2004 against the then-No. 3 Lady Raiders.
Up Next
OSU will travel to Austin, Texas on Saturday for a 3 p.m. contest with the Texas Longhorns.
What 2 Watch 4
An OSU win would snap a 13-game skid against Big 12 schools ... a win would snap OSU's two-game losing streak against Tech ... a win would move OSU to 9-7 all-time against Tech at home.
