Cowboys Host Buffaloes
Oklahoma State returns home to host the Colorado Buffaloes on Saturday, Jan. 21, at 3:01 p.m. inside Gallagher-Iba Arena. The Cowboys have a week off after defeating Baylor 66-48 in Waco last Saturday. OSU is 12-5 overall and 2-1 in Big 12 Conference action. The Buffs are 12-3 overall, 2-2 in league play after defeating Baylor 81-48 Wednesday night in Boulder.
On Television
Saturdays game will be broadcast live as part of the Big 12 Conferences television package with ESPN Regional. Fred White will handle the play-by-play duties while Paul Splittorff will provide expert analysis. It is the second of six ESPN Regional games for the Cowboys this season. In Oklahoma City and Stillwater, the game will be aired on KOCB TV-34. In Tulsa, the game will be on NBC affiliate KJRH Channel 2. The game will also be televised nationally as part of the ESPN FullCourt package.

Junior college transfer Torre Johnson recorded career highs with 26 points and 12 rebounds as the Cowboys spoiled Baylors home debut with a 66-48 win over the Bears Saturday in Waco. Johnson was 9-of-13 from the floor and 8-of-9 from the free-throw line in picking up his second 20-point game of the season. Mario Boggan added 12 points for the Pokes while Byron Eaton chipped in 10. OSU shot 50 percent from the floor while limiting the Bears to just 32.7 percent shooting, including 26.3 percent from beyond the arc.
About the Buffs
Colorado is 12-3 overall this season and 2-2 in Big 12 Conference action after defeating Baylor 81-48 Wednesday night in Boulder. The Buffaloes are led by sophomore guard Richard Roby who is averaging 17.2 points and 5.1 rebounds per game. Senior forward Chris Copeland is the only other player scoring in double figures, averaging 13.7 points per contest. Junior point guard Marcus Hall has 58 assists and just 22 turnovers in 11 starts. As a team, Colorado is shooting 47.2 percent from the floor and 38.2 percent from beyond the three-point arc. Colorado leads the Big 12 in scoring, averaging 83.1 points per game.
Series History with CU
Oklahoma State leads the all-time series with Colorado 57-45, including a 35-9 mark in Stillwater. OSU has won the last three meetings vs. the Buffaloes, including two last season. The Pokes won 104-86 last year in Boulder, their first win at Colorado since the Big 12 formed in 1996-97. Oklahoma State also defeated Colorado 87-85 in the quarterfinals of the Big 12 Tournament in Kansas City. Eddie Sutton is 17-5 vs. Colorado since his return to OSU and is 19-6 all-time against the Buffaloes including a 2-1 mark while at Creighton.
Cowboys Racking up Weekly Honors
Junior forward Torre Johnson was named the Big 12 Conferences Rookie of the Week, it was announced Monday, for the period ending Jan. 15. He averaging 19 points and 7.5 rebounds in two games last week. He recorded career highs with 26 points and 12 rebounds, his second-career double-double. It was Johnsons second such honor this year, having won the award on Dec. 4. It also marks the fifth time in nine weeks this season that a Cowboy has garnered the award.
Cowboys in the Big 12 Statistics
Oklahoma State leads the Big 12 Conference in field goal shooting, connecting on 52 percent of its shots from the floor. The Cowboys are the only team in the league shooting better than 50 percent. OSU also leads the league in free throw percentage at 72.8 percent. The Cowboys are third in three-point shooting at 37.5 percent. OSU is second in rebounding defense, allowing just 28 rebounds per game. Individually, Mario Boggan leads the league in field-goal percentage and third in free-throw percentage at 65 and 79.7 percent, respectively. Torre Johnson is fourth in field-goal percentage at 59.4 percent. JamesOn Curry is fourth in assists, averaging 4.7 per game.

Oklahoma State ranks second nationally in field-goal percentage as a team, shooting 52 percent as of Jan. 16. The Cowboys are 35th in rebound margin at +5.6 boards per game, and 39th in scoring margin at +11.2 points per contest. Individually, Mario Boggan ranks sixth nationally in field-goal percentage at 65 percent, while Torre Johnson ranks 29th at 59.4 percent.
