High School: Brumbaugh was named Floridas Mr. Basketball by the Florida Dairy Farmers after averaging 30.3 points, 12 rebounds, 4.9 assists and 3.6 steals per game his senior season. He was a consensus top-15 player nationally. He was rated as the No. 8 overall player in the country according to InsideHoops and was their second-ranked small forward behind Gerald Green, who signed with OSU and opted for the NBA. Brumbaugh was ranked a five-star recruit by Rivals.com, the No. 14 player overall. He was named a third-team All-American by Parade magazine, and was a top-100 finalist for the 2005 McDonalds All-American game. He did play in the 2005 Jordan Classic in New York City, and scored six points on 3-of-5 shooting while grabbing two rebounds. Brumbaugh participated in the 2004 USA Mens Youth Development Festival, and averaged 16.2 points and 8.4 rebounds in five starts. He scored 20 points, grabbed 11 rebounds, dished out six assists and had no turnovers in 33 minutes of play in the Gold Medal game. His USA South squad defeated the USA North, 140-123. Brumbaugh averaged 24.4 points and 11.1 rebounds as a junior, and had a 42 point game at the 2003 Nike Peach Jam. Brumbaugh also played soccer in high school. He was also recruited by Florida, Florida State, South Florida, USC and Nebraska.
Personal: Born July 29, 1985, Keith is the son of Darla Brumbaugh. He has seven brothers: Jimmy, Jordan and Jeremy Brumbaugh; and Lee, Sidney Tim and Jimmy Gibson. He also has a sister, Lucretia Brumbaugh. Jimmy was an all-SEC selection in football for the Auburn Tigers who also played professionally with the San Francisco 49ers. Jordan was an all-SIAC honoree in football at Tuskegee University. Jeremy played basketball at Valdosta State. Keith is undecided on his major at Oklahoma State.
