Cowgirl Basketball Adds a Pair of Transfers
August 22, 2005 | Cowgirl Basketball
Natasha Doh and Rashidat Sadiq will sit out this season in accordance with NCAA transfer guidelines and will be eligible to compete for the Cowgirls during the 2006-07 season.
Doh helped Oklahoma City University to a 32-7 record and the NAIA national championship game as a freshman last season. The Oklahoma City native scored a game-high 24 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in the title game and averaged 14.7 points and 5.8 rebounds per game for the Stars. The 5-9 guard was named the conference freshman of the year and earned honorable mention All-America honors.
At Putnam City West High School, Doh was an all-state selection after averaging 14.9 points and 9.8 rebounds per game.
“We think Natasha was overlooked coming out of high school,” Budke said. “She is a tremendous athlete with great instincts and has the ability to rebound well for a guard.”
Doh will have three years of eligibility remaining at OSU.
Sadiq spent last season at Connecticut where she played in 26 of the squad's 33 games. A native of Lagos, Nigeria, she averaged 2.3 points and 1.2 rebounds per game for the Huskies.
Sadiq spent two seasons at Central Arizona College where she averaged 24.9 points and 10.9 rebounds per game as a sophomore. The 6-2 forward was twice named an All-American and finished as the school's all-time leading scorer at 1,629 points.
“We recruited Rashy very hard when we were at Louisiana Tech,” Budke said. “She is a big-time power forward and is the type of athlete we need to compete in the Big 12.”
Sadiq will be classified as a senior with one year of eligibility remaining.
