Cowgirl Basketball Announces 2005-06 Schedule
August 20, 2005 | Cowgirl Basketball
“We are excited to have several home games during the non-conference schedule that enable our players to gain confidence early on,” associate head coach Jim Littell said. “It is also important to play at home to allow our fans to see the intensity and energy level that we will bring to the floor.”
The Cowgirls will take the court under first-year head coach Kurt Budke for the first time on Nov. 5 with an exhibition tilt against the Oklahoma Flyers in Gallagher-Iba Arena. OSU will close out exhibition play with a Nov. 11 game against Panhandle State in Stillwater.
OSU will open the regular season eight days later with a home date against Texas State. The season opener will be followed by a pair of games at the University of New Mexico Tournament Nov. 25-26.
The Cowgirls will return home for a string of six straight home contests before a trip to Wichita State and a Dec. 29 home date with Prairie View A&M on Dec. 29 to close out the non-conference schedule.
OSU will begin Big 12 play at Texas A&M on Jan. 4 before opening the home portion of its conference slate with a Jan. 7 game against Iowa State. The Cowgirls will welcome in-state rival Oklahoma to town on Jan. 14 before defending national champion Baylor comes calling on Feb. 4.
OSU will close out the regular season on March 1 at home against Texas A&M.
