Four Cowboy Netters Receive All-Conference Honors

The Cowboys had a pair honored for their accomplishments in singles play. Senior Mark Van Elden was named to the team for the second consecutive year. The Geelong, Australia, native has compiled an 18-7 record on the season at the No. 1 spot, and has defeated seven ranked opponents, including top-ranked Benedikt Dorsch of Baylor. Van Elden is ranked 28th nationally this week.
Tomas Bohunicky received his first all-conference selection. A junior from Trnava, Slovakia, Bohunicky is ranked 90th in the country and has an 11-12 record on the year at the No. 2 singles position, with wins over 23rd-ranked Bojan Szumanski of Texas Tech and Baylor's 43rd-ranked Lars Poerschke, who was named Big 12 Co-Freshman of the Year.
Senior Boris Kuharic and junior Felipe Diaz were tabbed as a unanimous selection for their play on the Nos. 1 and 2 doubles courts. The pair has been ranked as high as 40th this season, and boasts three top 15 wins.
Next up for the Cowboys will be the NCAA first and second rounds on May 13-15. The selection special will be aired live on DIRECTV Channel 207 at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.
