Cowboy Netters Shut Out Wichita State, 5-0

The Cowboys (19-5, 5-2) took the doubles poins quickly with a pair of dominating victories. Senior Boris Kuharic and junior Felipe Diaz scored the first point by defeating Carlo Contente and Moti Eisikovits at the No. 2 position.
Just seconds later, junior Tomas Bohunicky and sophomore Artie Burmistrau notched their 18th win of the year with an 8-2 triumph over Gabriel Loredo and Thiago Santos.
Burmistrau scored first in singles action, picking up a 6-1, 5-0 default win over Loredo at the fourth spot. Kuharic extended the OSU lead to 3-0 with a 6-2, 6-4 straight set victory over Boris Gubic in his final home match as a Cowboy. The win improved his record to 17-3 on the year.
Senior Mark Van Elden provided the clinching point with his 6-4, 6-1 win over Contente. Sophomore Daniel Byrnes was serving for his match when Van Elden clinched, and was allowed to finish his game, defeating Santos, 6-1, 6-4.
Oklahoma State returns to action on Friday for a noon match against Oklahoma in the first round of the Big 12 Tournament in Austin, Texas. The third-seeded Cowboys defeated the sixth-seeded Sooners 4-3 on April 20 in Norman.
