Cowboy Basketball inks Junior College Power Forward

Boggan, a 6-8, 250-pound power forward, was named honorable mention All-America by the National Junior College Athletic Association this past season. He was also named to the 2005 NJCAA Tournament all-tournament team.
Last season at Chipola, Boggan averaged 20.5 points and 9.2 rebounds per game while shooting 57.9 percent from the floor and 71.5 percent from the charity stripe. He scored a season-high 37 points against Florida Community College, and equalled that mark against Pensacola Junior College, along with 17 rebounds. He grabbed a season-high 18 rebounds in a game against Middle Georgia.
The Indians went 33-4 last season and dropped an 84-70 decision to the College of Southern Idaho in the third-place game at the NJCAA National Tournament. Chipola was ranked No. 5 in the final NJCAA Division I regular-season poll.
In those 37 games, Boggan scored 20 or more points on 19 occasions, with four 30-point contests. He had 15 double-doubles during the season.
Boggan, a native of Durham, N.C., attended Hargrave Military Academy in Virginia his senior season. He was a consensus national top-50 player in high school after averaging 22.2 points and 10.7 boards per game his senior year.
Boggan signed with the Florida Gators and played in 16 games his freshman season, averaging 2.3 points and 1.9 rebounds per contest. He shot 52 percent from the floor, averaging six minutes per game.
The future Cowboy was also recruited by Auburn, Cincinnati and Texas A&M.
