Cowgirls Finish Second at Longhorn Invitational

Oklahoma State's women's golf team finished one stroke behind Duke at the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational in Austin, Texas, at the conclusion of the final round today.
OSU finished the tournament with a score of 915 (51 over par), nine strokes ahead of third-place Texas, but finished second behind Duke's 914. The Cowgirls entered the day two shots behind and could only make up for one of those.
Mallorie Underwood led the Cowgirls with a second-place finish shooting 226 (10 over par) for the three-day event. Annie Thurman-Young finished one stroke behind her in a tie for fifth. Rounding out the scoring for the Cowgirls were Karin Sjodin, Ali Griffin and Candie Herrera finishing in 18th, 22nd and 50th, respectively.
Arkansas' Stacy Lewis won the individual title by shooting an eight over par 224. She finished two shots ahead of three golfers in a tie for second, including Underwood.
The Cowgirls next event will be the Bryan National Collegiate in Greensboro, N.C. The three-day tournament will begin on April 1.
