BEDLAM BUFFET RAISES ALMOST $10,000 FOR SPECIAL OLYMPICS
Prior to Monday nights' festivities of the Bedlam basketball game in Gallagher-Iba Arena, student-athletes from all sports at Oklahoma State held the “Bedlam Buffet” in the Express Personnel Club level of Boone Pickens Stadium to raise money for the Oklahoma Special Olympics. Special Olympics is the official charity of the Big 12 Conference. Comprised of Cowboy and Cowgirl student-athletes, The Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) is responsible for a number of community service projects. More than 300 people packed the “Bedlam Buffet” for food and drinks provided by the Oklahoma Pork Council, Sodexho Catering and Great Plains Coca-Cola. Highlighting the evening was the silent auction that raised almost $5,000 and a raffle drawing for a game used OSU bench chair with the signatures of Eddie Sutton, Mike Gundy and John Smith. The entire evening was staffed and operated by the student-athletes with the help of OSU Athletics. At halftime of the Bedlam game the officers of the OSU Student-Athlete Advisory Committee presented the check to representatives of the Oklahoma Special Olympics.
