Cowgirls Hit The Road To Take On Kansas State

Oklahoma State's women's basketball team (6-12 overall, 1-7 Big 12) will attempt to rebound from back-to-back heartbreaking losses when they travel to No. 15 Kansas State (16-4, 7-2) for a 5 p.m. contest on Saturday. The Cowgirls are coming off consecutive two-point losses, while the Wildcats had a seven-game winning streak snapped on Wednesday night at Baylor
ABOUT K-STATE
The Wildcats are coming off their first loss since Jan. 5 at Iowa State after dropping a 72-62 game in Waco to the Lady Bears over the weekend. K-State enters Saturday's tilt with an 8-1 record at home with their lone loss coming at the hands of Liberty. The Wildcats are averaging 72.4 points per game and have four players scoring in double figures. Kendra Wecker, the league's leading scorer, is pouring in 20.7 points per game and is joined by Laurie Koehn (12.2 ppg), Claire Coggins (10.4 ppg) and Megan Mahoney (10.0 ppg) as the squad's prominent scoring threats. Wecker is also pulling a team-best 9.5 rebounds per game, leads the team with 36 steals and has hit 28 of her 59 (.475) 3-point attempts. Mahoney paces K-State with 71 assists on the year.
OSU AND K-STATEÂTHE SERIES
The Wildcats have cut the OSU advantage in the series to 25-23 after winning the last two meetings. K-State won the last matchup in Manhattan, 64-46, in front of a sellout crowd of 13,340 in 2003. OSU has won seven of the 18 games played between the two schools in Manhattan and last won in Bramlage Coliseum in 2001, a 69-55 triumph.
