In singles play, the Crimson quickly took a 2-1 lead after wins at the Nos. 1 and 2 positions, but would win no more matches on the day.
At No. 3 singles, Kuharic defeated Ashwin Kumar in straight sets, 7-6, 6-2. Burmistrau followed with his first singles win of tournament, a 6-4, 6-3 win over Shantanu Dhaka.
Sophomore Daniel Byrnes clinched the match for the Pokes at No. 6 singles. The Melbourne, Australia native dropped his first set, 6-1, before fighting back to win the last two and claim the match, 1-6, 7-6, 6-3.
“This could be the best weekend OSU tennis has ever had,” head coach James Wadley said. “It's great because not only did everyone play well, but all the guys had a chance to contribute.”
