Cowgirl Basketball Set To Host Texas

Oklahoma State's women's basketball team (7-15 overall, 2-10 Big 12) returns home after a two-game road swing to take on the No. 13 Texas Longhorns (16-7, 9-3) at 7 p.m. on Saturday. The Cowgirls will be in search of their second consecutive home win after knocking off Kansas on Feb. 9, while Texas is looking for its second consecutive road win after winning at Kansas State on Wednesday.
ABOUT THE LONGHORNS
Texas comes to town in the midst of a three-game winning streak after picking up a 64-60 win during the midweek at Kansas State. The Longhorns are 5-6 this season away from home with five of those losses coming against opponents that are currently in the Top 25. UT has a trio of players scoring in double figures with sophomore forward Tiffany Jackson leading the way at 17.3 points per game. The Duncanville, Texas native is also the team's leading rebounder at 8.7 caroms per contest. Senior guard Jamie Carey is averaging 12.3 points per game and is hitting a team-best 47 percent (55-of-118) from the 3-point line. Senior forward Heather Schreiber rounds out the group with a 10.3 points per game average.
OSU AND UTÂTHE SERIES
The Longhorns hold a commanding lead in the overall series against Oklahoma State, winning 17 of the previous 20 meetings after their 63-42 win on Jan. 15 in Austin. UT has reeled off 10 consecutive wins in the series. OSU has lost four consecutive home games during that span and their last win in the series was a 71-69 victory in 2000.
