Cowgirls Travel To Waco To Take On Baylor

Oklahoma State's women's basketball team (7-13 overall, 2-8 Big 12) will hit the road on Saturday to take on No. 7 Baylor (18-3, 8-2) at 1 p.m. inside the Ferrell Center. The Cowgirls snapped a three-game losing streak on Wednesday with a 57-54 victory over Kansas, while the Lady Bears are carrying the momentum of a five-game winning streak into the matchup after knocking off Oklahoma during the midweek.

The Lady Bears snuck out of Norman on Wednesday with a 73-72 win over Oklahoma for their fifth consecutive win. Baylor has been exceptional at home this season, winning all 10 of its games inside the Ferrell Center, including all four of its Big 12 contests. Forward Sophia Young enters the weekend as the squad's top scorer and rebounder, averaging 17.6 points and 9.5 boards per game, respectively. The junior teams with senior center Steffanie Blackmon, who is averaging 15.5 points and 8.1 rebounds per game, to give Baylor one of the most formidable frontcourts in the nation. Forward Emily Niemann provides the Lady Bears with an outside presence, as the sophomore is connecting on 51 percent of her 3-point attempts on the season.

The Lady Bears have built a 14-7 advantage in the all-time series after winning the last four matchups against the Cowgirls. Baylor holds a commanding 8-1 advantage in Waco and has won five consecutive home games in the series since its lone loss in 1999.
