Cowgirls Put Win Streak On the Line Against Wichita State

Oklahoma State's women's basketball team (5-4) will be in search of its fifth consecutive victory on Thursday night when it travels to Wichita State (5-2) for a 7 p.m. contest. The Cowgirls are coming off an impressive 91-42 triumph over Memphis on Monday, while the Shockers enter the contest fresh off a 76-69 win over Northern Illinois.
Scouting the Shockers
Two of the three top scorers on head coach Jane Albright's club are Oklahoma native's as sophomore Kiki Stephens, a Tulsa Union product, leads the way at 15.1 points per game, while Jenks High School graduate Whitney Rice is third on the team at 8.3 points per contest. Antionette Wells is currently second on the squad at 13.1 points per game and leads the team with 9.1 boards per game. The Shockers are 4-0 at home this season after their win over Northern Illinois on Monday. Thursday's contest marks the seventh consecutive year the Cowgirls and Shockers have met on the hardwood. The two squads have met 17 times overall with OSU holding a 9-8 advantage in the series after defeating the Shockers, 72-59, last year in Stillwater. Last year's win halted the Cowgirls' three-game losing streak in the series. OSU has lost the last three road games in the series and its last win in Wichita came on Dec. 20, 1992.

The Cowgirls will take a week off for the holidays before closing out non-conference play with a 7 p.m. game on Dec. 29 at home against Prairie View A&M.
