Cowboy Pair Lose in First Round of National Tournament

Oklahoma State's Daniel Byrnes and Tomas Bohunicky were both eliminated in the first round of the 2005 ITA National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships on Thursday.
Byrnes was defeated by Radford's No. 113-ranked Martin Sayer in the first round. The junior won the first set 6-3, before losing the next two to Sayer, 6-2, 6-3. The loss was the first for Byrnes in the fall, who now stands at 6-1.
Bohunicky was eliminated by the No. 8 seed Matt Bruch of Stanford. The Cowboy senior, who is ranked No. 49, won the first set before falling to Bruch, 6-7 (2), 6-3, 6-1.
Consolation play will begin tomorrow at the Racquet Club in Columbus, Ohio.
