Cowgirl Golfers to Compete in Hooters Match Play Championship

Oklahoma State's women's golf team will travel to Howey in the Hills, Fla., this weekend to compete in the 2005 Hooters Collegiate Match Play Championship. It is OSU's third-consecutive invitation to the tournament.

The Cowgirls, playing as the No. 15 seed in the tournament, will face No. 2-seeded Purdue in the first round. The tournament takes place on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 11-13, at the Mission Inn Golf and Tennis Resort.

Other pairings in the bracket include: No. 1 UCLA vs. No. 16 UC-Irvine, No. 3 Arkansas vs. No. 14 Furman, No. 4 Arizona State vs. No. 13 Missouri, No. 5 USC vs. No. 12 Tulane, No. 6 Texas A&M vs. No. 11 Florida, No. 7 Tennessee vs. No. 10 Stanford, and No. 8 Washington vs. No. 9 Michigan State.

Competing for the Cowgirls will be senior Jennifer Karr, junior Mallorie Underwood, and freshmen Karin Kinnerud, Pernilla Lindberg and Amanda Johnson.

This will be the final action of the fall for Oklahoma State.
