Cowboy Duo Falls Short in Qualifying Bid

In the opening round, the team of Burmistrau and Bohunicky defeated conference foes and the No. 3 seeded Jerry Makowski and Connor Pollock, Texas A&M, 8-5. In the second round, Burmistrau and Bohunicky continued to roll defeating the No. 1 seeded duo of Autran Eduardo and Abreao Edson, UALR, 8-5.
Needing one more win to advance from qualifying to the main draw, Burmistrau and Bohunicky were defeated by North Carolina's Rain Luchici and Brad Pomeroy, 8-5.
In other doubles action, the duo of Daniel Byrnes and Juan Diaz lost to Illinois's Monte Tucker and Marc Spicijaric, 8-6, in the second round of qualifying. The team received a bye in the first round.
In the singles qualifying consolations, Bohunicky bounced back from a first round loss on Monday. The senior defeated Jacopo Tezza of TCU, in straight sets, 6-2, 6-2. In other action, Burmistrau, junior, was beat by Louisiana-Lafayette's Amanjot Singh, 6-3, 6-1.
The Cowboys will be back in Tulsa on October 20-23 for the Wilson Central regional.
