Cowboy Tennis Advances Two to the Regional Quarterfinals

Byrnes faced Tulsa's No. 111-ranked Ricardo Soriano in the round of 16. The junior fell behind early losing the first set 2-6. Byrnes bounced back and won the next two sets, 6-3, 6-3, to advance to the quarterfinals. Byrnes will face Arkansas' No. 58-ranked Adrians Zguns Sunday.
Like Byrnes, Bohunicky also had to face an instate rival from Tulsa in the round of 16. The senior defeated Federico Soriano, Tulsa, in straight sets, 6-3, 6-0. The No. 49-ranked Bohunicky will face Big 12 rival Adrian Szatmary, Nebraska, in the quarterfinals Sunday.
Quarterfinal action will begin Sunday, 10 a.m., at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center on the Tulsa campus.
