Cowboy Netters Topple Aggies

The Cowboys easily won the doubles point. At the No. 1 spot, Mark Van Elden and Daniel Byrnes cruised to an 8-1 victory over Jorge Williams and Luis Avila. The 40th-ranked pair of Boris Kuharic and Felipe Diaz beat Danilo Zivanovic and Ben Archer-Clowes by an identical score at the No. 2 position.
In singles play, 44th-ranked Van Elden captured a straight set win over Zivanovic 7-5, 6-2. No. 115 Tomas Bohunicky also won in straight sets, defeating Archer-Clowes 6-3, 7-6 at the No. 2 spot. At No. 3 singles, 117th-ranked Boris Kuharic swept Jorge Williams 7-5, 6-4.
The Pokes got another straight set win at No. 4 singles, with newcomer Artsem Burmistrau beating Luis Avila 6-0, 6-2. At No. 5 singles, Felipe Diaz prevailed in a three set thriller over Christian Halligan 6-1, 6-7, 10-7.
Oklahoma State will be back in action on Jan. 28 with a 6 p.m. match against No. 26 Arizona in Tulsa.
