The Cowboys, ranked 32nd in the country, started the day by winning the doubles point. At the No. 2 position, 40th-ranked Boris Kuharic and Felipe Diaz cruised to an 8-5 victory over Jakob Gustafsson and Jeremy Clark. At the No. 3 position, Artsem Burmistrau and Tomas Bohunicky defeated Mark Kennedy and Jhonny Berrido 9-8 (7-5).
In singles play, 44th-ranked Mark Van Elden beat No. 124 Damar Johnson 6-2, 1-6, 6-2, playing in the No. 1 slot. At the No. 4 position, Artsem Burmistrau won handily over Jeremy Clark, 6-0, 7-6, and Felipe Diaz also won in straight sets at No. 5, 7-5, 6-1, over Jhonny Berrido. The lone point for Louisville resulted from a Daniel Byrnes injury default at No. 6 singles.
Oklahoma State (1-0) will stay in Tulsa to play New Mexico State tomorrow at 9 a.m.
