Last game
Joey Graham and Ivan McFarlin each scored 20 points, and following the 83-73 win over Iowa State Saturday afternoon, OSU officials announced that the court inside Gallagher-Iba Arena would be named after Coach Eddie Sutton. Sutton surpassed his mentor, Mr. Henry Iba, with his 768th career victory, ranking seventh all-time in NCAA Division I history. McFarlin added 12 rebounds for his fourth double-double of the season, while John Lucas had 17 points and seven assists for the Pokes. The difference came at the free-throw line, where Oklahoma State made 21-of-29 shots from the charity stripe, compared to just 12-of-16 by the Cyclones. OSU also outrebounded Iowa State, 34-25. Both teams shot well from the floor, with ISU making 50.9 percent of its shots and OSU connecting on 50 percent of its attempts. The Cowboys made 8-of-19 shots from long range (42.1 percent), while the Cyclones were good on 5-of-11 (45.5 percent). ISU forced the Pokes into 15 turnovers, while only committing 12 of their own. The Iowa State zone posed some difficulty for OSU in the first period, as the Cowboys scored just 30 in the first half.
Sutton ranks seventh all-time
With Saturdays win over Iowa State, Coach Eddie Sutton surpassed his mentor, Henry Iba, for seventh place on the all-time career victories list. Sutton played for Mr. Iba from 1956-59, and was an assistant for the Iron Duke one season. Coach Sutton is 768-293 in his 35 year career at the Division I level. Mr. Iba was 767-338 in his 41 year career as a Division I coach at Northwest Missouri State, Colorado and what was then Oklahoma A&M. His career ran from 1929-70.
Eddie Sutton Court
Oklahoma State officials announced immediately following Saturdays game that the floor inside Gallagher-Iba Arena would now be known as Eddie Sutton Court. The floor, made of white maple, is the court that was originally installed in the arena in 1938. The arena was originally named Gallagher Hall after famed OSU wrestling coach Ed Gallagher. The Board of Regents renamed the arena in 1987 to include the name of Mr. Iba. The entire facility is known as the OSU Athletics Center, while the basketball arena is known as Gallagher-Iba Arena. The court will be named Eddie Sutton Court.

OSU is 4-0 this season in true road contests, and outscoring the home team by an average of 16.4 points per game ... This years Cowboys have 16 20-point games between them through 14 contests. Last years squad had only four at this point in the year ... Oklahoma State is averaging 11,679 fans per game through eight games this season. This is an actual turnstile count, as most Cowboy games are sold out.
