Last game
Oklahoma State overcame a 13 point deficit and a hostile crowd as the Cowboys won their Big 12 Conference opener with a 76-66 win over Texas Tech in Lubbock last Saturday afternoon. Joey Graham scored a game-high 25 points and grabbed a game-high 12 rebounds, marking his first double-double of the season. Ivan McFarlin added a double-double of his own with 14 points and 10 boards. John Lucas scored 20 points, including six treys, and also dished out five assists. The Pokes trailed by as many as 13 with just over six minutes remaining in the first half, and trailed, 36-29, at intermission. OSU chipped away at the Red Raiders lead, and tied the game at 47-47 with 11:46 remaining on one of Grahams 10 free throws. The game went back and forth until the Cowboys went on an 8-0 run to take a 60-53 lead. Tech cut the lead back to two with 2:54 left in the game, but a key three pointer by Stephen Graham and some free throws put the game away for good. Stephen scored 13 points, including 12 in the second half, despite picking up his fourth foul at the 6:14 mark of the first period.
The next one ties
Coach Eddie Sutton needs just one more win to match his mentor, Mr. Iba, for seventh place on the all-time wins list for Division I. Mr. Iba had 767 career victories and sits in seventh place on the all-time wins list. Coach Sutton currently has 766 victories. It will be quite an achievement for Coach Sutton, who played for Mr. Iba from 1955-58, and was a graduate assistant coach for the Iron Duke during the 1958-59 season.
