Cowgirl Duo Fares Well At British Ladies' Open Amateur

Over 140 of the top amateur golfers in Europe and North America are competing in the tournament. Canada native Christine Boucher, named the Big 12 Player of the Year last season as a senior at Kansas State, leads the tournament with a four-under 69. Canadian Lindsay Knowlton, a member of the Ohio State golf team, is tied with Laura Jane Eastwood of Yelverton at three-under 70.
Kent State's Martina Gillen, from Dublin, Ireland, is in fourth place with a two-under 71. Sjödin is tied with Canada's Veronique Drouin, Sofie Andersson of Sweden and Baylor University, Claire Coughlan of Cork and Germany's Sandra Gal at 72.
The tournament consists of two rounds of stroke play, one each on Tuesday and Wednesday. The top-64 golfers will then be seeded into a match-play tournament which begins on Thursday and concludes on Saturday.
