Daniel Byrnes Named Co-Freshman Of The Year

The Melbourne, Australia native compiled a record of 15-6 on the season to help lead the Cowboys to a 17-5 finish going into the NCAA Regionals to be held May 15-16.
Byrnes went 6-1 against Big 12 opponents to earn the Big 12 title at the No. 5 position and paced OSU to a fourth-place league finish with a 4-3 record.
Junior Mark Van Elden was named to the All-Big 12 singles team for his stellar play this season. The Geelong, Australia native went 18-3 during the season and nearly knocked off third-ranked Benedikt Dorsch in the Big 12 Tournament before the match was called.
Van Elden finished then season as the 24th-ranked player in the country and will wait to hear who he will play in the first round of the NCAA individual tournament draw to be announced tomorrow.
Senior Katya Kolodynska was named to the All-Big 12 singles team on the women's side. The Minsk, Belarus native helped lead the Cowgirls to a Big 12 championship last season.
The Cowboys are waiting to hear where they will play the NCAA Regional at, which will begin May 15-16 at campus locations. The NCAA Tennis Championships will be held May 22-31 at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center in Tulsa, Okla.
