Cowboy Tennis Earns Academic Honors

DALLAS, Texas Â— Oklahoma State's men's tennis team had five athletes named to the 2004 Men's Academic All-Big 12 Team, with four players being named to the first team and one being named to the second team.

OSU had more first team nominations than any other school in the Big 12.

Senior Yevgen Bondarchuk, a native of the Ukraine, is set to graduate in economics. Croatian native Boris Kuharic is a junior majoring in international business. Slovakian native Tomas Bohunicky and Colombian native are both undeclared sophomores. All first-team athletes must have a GPA of at least 3.20

Junior Australian Mark Van Elden is the only Cowboy on the second team. Van Elden is majoring in secondary education with a GPA of at least 3.0.

Oklahoma State will be in action in the first round of the Big 12 Tournament when they take on Oklahoma on Friday at 6:00 p.m., at the Headington Family Tennis Center in Norman, Okla.
