Cowboy Tennis Closes Season at Texas A&M

The Cowboys currently sit in fourth-place in the Big 12 standings with a 4-2 record. Texas A&M is a game up on OSU with a 5-1 record and are currently in second-place. A victory by OSU would force a three way tie for second-place, Texas has already finished the season at 5-2, while an A&M victory would give the Aggies the No. 2 seed in the upcoming Big 12 tournament.
“Texas A&M is awfully tough,” Oklahoma State head coach James Wadley said. “They are going to be ready for us after we beat them last year and a lot will be riding on it in terms of Big 12 placement.”
OSU's victory last season ended an eight match losing streak to Texas A&M. Both teams will feature many of the same players that they did a year ago.
Texas A&M is strong at the top with its top two players ranked in the top 20. Lester Cook is ranked No. 14 with an 18-4 record at the No. 1 position, while Ante Matijevic is No. 20 with a 16-4 record at the No. 2 position. The duo also teams up to form the nation's second-ranked doubles' tandem.
The Cowboys are coming off of a 5-2 victory over instate rival Tulsa. Mark Van Elden got back on the winning track and is now 17-2 and ranked No. 29 playing the top position. Tomas Bohunicky is also 17-2 playing in the No. 3 spot and Boris Kuharic is 16-3 playing in the No. 4 position.
The Big 12 Tournament will begin April 30 at the University of Oklahoma's Headington Family Tennis Center in Norman, Okla.
