Cowboy Netters Defeat BYU 5-1

Mark Van Elden set the tone for the Cowboys at the No. 1 position by defeating the No. 58-ranked player in the country, Erik Nyman, 6-0, 5-7, 6-0.
The Cowboys got straight set victories from Tomas Bohunicky, Daniel Byrnes and Juan Felipe Diaz. Boris Kuharic needed a third set to defeat Sominik Kaufhold.
Yevgen Bondarchuk suffered the only loss for OSU after he retired due to injury.
OSU will head west for a pair of matches in Las Vegas. The Cowboys will take on host UNLV this Friday and then face Southern Mississippi on Saturday.
