Cowgirls Begin Big 12 Tournament Play Against Missouri

Oklahoma State's women's basketball team (8-19 overall, 3-13 Big 12) will begin postseason play on Tuesday at 6 p.m. when it takes on Missouri (16-11, 7-9) in the first round of the Big 12 Tournament at Reunion Arena in Dallas. The Cowgirls enter as the event's No. 10 seed and in the midst of a nine-game losing streak, while the seventh-seeded Tigers are riding a three-game winning streak into postseason play.
OSU AND THE BIG 12
The Cowgirls' first-round foe, Missouri, heads to Dallas having won three consecutive games after winning at Texas A&M to close out the regular season. On Feb. 14, the Tigers cruised to a 71-46 win over OSU in Stillwater behind an 18-point, 13-rebound performance from all-conference performer Evan Unrau. The senior forward is averaging 17.7 points and 9.0 rebounds per outing. The OSU-Mizzou tilt will be a rematch of their first-round contest last season. A year ago, the 11th-seeded Cowgirls held on for a 56-54 win over the sixth-seeded Tigers to improve to 2-0 all-time against Mizzou at the Big 12 Tournament and 4-3 all-time against the Tigers in postseason action. The winner of Tuesday's game will advance to take on second-seeded Kansas State at 6 p.m. on Wednesday.
TOURNAMENT HISTORY
The Cowgirls are 6-7 all-time in Big 12 Tournament play, posting their highest finish in 1998, tying for third. OSU has a league-best five first-round victories in the event against only two losses.
