Cowboy Netters Slip Past #37 San Diego

SAN DIEGO, Calif.– Oklahoma State’s No. 33-ranked men’s tennis team dispatched a pesky San Diego squad 4-2 this afternoon on the University of San Diego campus and improved to 7-1 on the season.
The Toreros are now 6-5 on the season and currently ranked No. 37 in the latest ITA poll released this week.
OSU’s No. 55 Mark Van Elden defeated the No. 30-ranked player in Pierrick Ysern to remain undefeated. Tomas Bohunicky and Boris Kuharic are also 8-0 on the season after winning at the No. 3 and No.4 positions, respectively.
Daniel Byrnes won the decisive match at the No. 5 singles’ position defeating San Diego’s Mirza Koristovic in three sets.
The Cowboys will face the Utah Utes at 9:30 a.m. in San Diego before taking a couple of days off to prepare for #58 Purdue on Friday.
