AUSTIN, Texas (AP) - Jamie Carey scored 18 points, and third-ranked Texas beat Oklahoma State 67-45 Wednesday night for its 29th consecutive victory at home.
Carey hit four 3-pointers for the Longhorns (16-2, 4-1 Big 12). Stacy Stephens added 13 points and Tiffany Jackson 10.
Trisha Skibbe scored 12 points - well below her average of 21.3 - for Oklahoma State (6-10, 1-4) which has lost four in a row. The Cowgirls committed 27 turnovers the Longhorns transformed into 30 points.
Oklahoma State, which lost by 50 points to Oklahoma four days earlier, kept it close in the first half despite its sloppy play.
Carey scored 13 points in the first half on 5-of-9 shooting but was the only consistent offensive weapon for the Longhorns. Texas led 25-20 late in the half before Carey and Jackson scored all of the Longhorns' points in a 9-4 run that opened a 34-24 lead.
Heather Schreiber began the second half with a 3-pointer. Stephens hit a layup and Carey made another 3 from deep in the left corner in a 8-0 Texas run that made it 42-24. The Longhorns led by at least 15 points the rest of the way.
