Cowgirl Basketball Falls To Missouri, 71-46

The Cowgirls (8-15 overall, 3-9 Big 12) were marred by poor shooting, hitting just 22.6 (7-of-31) percent from the floor in the first half on their way to a 32-20 deficit at the intermission. OSU converted just 28 percent of its shots on the night.
Missouri (13-9, 4-7) raced out to a 13-point lead early and never looked back, getting 13 point from Evan Unrau in the first 20 minutes of play and connecting on 13-of-28 from the floor (46 percent) in the stanza. The senior forward was one of four Tigers to finish in double figures, scoring a game-high 18 points and grabbing 13 rebounds.
Mizzou pulled away in the second half after holding the Cowgirls to three points through the first 8:36 of the second period. The Tigers watched their lead grow to 23 at 46-23 before OSU mounted a surge midway through the half.
A Nina Stone three-point basket cut the deficit to 14 with just under eight minutes to play before a 10-2 Tiger run ended the contest.
Senior Trisha Skibbe led the way offensively for the Cowgirls, pouring in 15 points, while freshman Christian Hood recorded her second career double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds.
OSU will return to action on Wednesday when it travels to Waco, Texas to take on Baylor at 7 p.m.
