Cowgirls Set To Host Missouri On Saturday

Oklahoma State's women's basketball team (8-14 overall, 3-8 Big 12) will look to snap a four-game losing streak on Saturday when it takes on Missouri (12-9, 3-7) at 6 p.m. in Stillwater. The Cowgirls are coming off a 64-41 loss at Nebraska, while the Tigers fell at home to Baylor, 83-59, in their mid-week matchup. Saturday's game is the back end of a doubleheader with the OSU men's team and admission is free to the women's contest with the presentation of a ticket stub from the Cowboys' tilt with Baylor.
SCOUTING THE TIGERS
Mizzou will be looking for its second consecutive road win after defeating Iowa State in Ames on Feb. 7. Three players are in double figures in the scoring column for the Tigers with Evan Unrau leading the way at 17.4 points per game. The senior is also the squad's top rebounder, pulling 8.8 boards per game. Missouri is tied for first nationally in blocked shots per game (6.7 bpg) and is paced by Stretch James' 2.14 blocks per game. The two squads met twice last season with the Tigers claiming an 87-65 victory in Columbia before the Cowgirls earned a series split with a 56-54 win in the first round of the Big 12 Tournament. The overall series stands at 23-20 in favor of Mizzou. OSU won the last meeting in Stillwater, 73-57, two years ago.

Oklahoma State's women's basketball team saw its losing streak extended to four games on Wednesday night, losing 64-41 to Nebraska in front of 3,276 fans inside the Devaney Center. The Cowgirls struggled offensively, hitting only 16 of their 58 (27.6 percent) field-goal attempts and finishing with only one player in double figures. Meanwhile, the Huskers connected at a 44 percent clip from the floor and scored 20 points off of 16 OSU turnovers. OSU trailed 15-14 with 12 minutes remaining in the first half, but could only manage two points over the next 8:29 as Nebraska built its lead to nine on its way to a 27-20 advantage at the intermission. The Cowgirls trimmed the lead to three with back-to-back buckets in the first minute of the second half and kept the margin in single digits until a 20-7 run midway through the period put the contest out of reach. Trisha Skibbe led the way offensively for OSU, scoring 14 points and grabbing a game-high nine rebounds.
