Cowgirls Set To Take On South Dakota State

Oklahoma State's women's basketball team (4-4) will continue its three-game home stand on Dec. 30 when it hosts South Dakota State at 2 p.m. The contest will be the first for OSU since defeating Texas Southern on Dec. 20.
ABOUT SOUTH DAKOTA STATE
In its first season of Division I basketball, South Dakota State will be making its first-ever trek to Stillwater for Thursday's contest. The Jackrabbits have enjoyed success at the Division II level, making nine trips to the postseason. SDSU has appeared in three NCAA Division II Elite Eights and won the 2003 NCAA Division II title. The Jackrabbits finished last season with a 26-7 mark and a run to the Elite Eight. Entering the week, SDSU holds a mark of 9-3 after dismantling Ferris State, 100-48, on Dec. 21. The Jackrabbits will play Purdue in West Lafayette, Ind., on Dec. 28 before heading south to take on the Cowgirls. SDSU reeled off three straight wins to open the season, including winning the Cal State Stanislaus tournament, and also owns a 57-55 win over Kentucky.
OSU AND SOUTH DAKOTA STATEÂTHE SERIES
Monday's meeting will be the first-ever contest between the Cowgirls and Jackrabbits. SDSU. The Jackrabbits have had success away from home this year, winning three of their four road contests. The matchup will be just OSU's fifth all-time against a school that is not affiliated with a conference. Overall, the Cowgirls are 4-0 against independent schools with their last win coming in 2000 against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.
