Cowgirl Basketball Opens Exhibition Play With 12-Point Victory

The Cowgirls (1-0) got a 26-point, eight-rebound performance from senior Nina Stone, who connected on seven of her 13 shots from the floor and four of her seven three-point attempts. The Indianapolis, Ind., native's all-around performance included two assists and a team-high three steals in 39 minutes.
Marred by 30 turnovers on the night, OSU was still able to jump out tot a 16-point lead at the midway point of the first half after holding Baden Sports (0-7) to just four points during that span and took a 29-18 advantage into the break.
The Cowgirls stretched the lead to 27 at 49-22 at the 10:32 mark of the second half on a Stone layup, but were outscored 24-9 down the stretch in large part due to 12 turnovers.
Newcomers Taleesha Conder and Devry McDonald were solid during their Cowgirl debuts. Conder, a freshman from Alva, Okla., scored nine points and had a pair of steals, while McDonald, a sophomore from Beaver, Okla., had three steals and six rebounds on the night.
Senior Lynsie Tischhauser provided a spark off the OSU bench, pulling a team-high 10 rebounds and scoring six points in just 19 minutes of action.
Baden Sports finished with three players in double figures and was led by Nicki Sedowski's 12-point performance.
The Cowgirls will close out their exhibition slate next Monday when they take on the Oklahoma Flyers at 7 p.m. in Stillwater.
