Cowgirl Basketball Comes Up Short Against Fresno State

For the second consecutive contest, the Cowgirls (1-2) were outscored by a considerable margin off turnovers. The Bulldogs (3-0) scored 19 points off of 20 OSU miscues, while the Cowgirls managed just six points off 15 Fresno State turnovers.
The lead changed hands six times in the first half before the Bulldogs closed out the stanza with a 9-4 run to take a 25-21 advantage into the break.
The Cowgirls took their final lead of the night at the 3:40 mark of the second half on a three-pointer by Brittany Dietz before a pair of Bulldog free throws knotted the score for the ninth time of the night at 51 apiece with 2:31 remaining.
However, OSU was held to two points the rest of the way, getting a jumper by freshman Taleesha Conder with 40 seconds remaining to pull within two at 55-53. The Bulldogs got a pair of free throws from Jasmine Plummer with 14 ticks remaining to seal their first-ever victory over the Cowgirls.
Conder was once again impressive off the bench for OSU, finishing with a team-high 12 points and pulling six rebounds.
The Cowgirls will return home on Tuesday to face Wichita State at 7 p.m.
