Two Cowboy Netters Advance to Quarterfinals

Van Elden, the tournament's top seed, recorded a straight set victory over Matt Roberts of Arkansas, 7-6, 6-2. Boris Kuharic, the No. 4 seed, also won in straight sets, 6-3, 7-5, over Achim Roth of Tulsa. Van Elden and Kuharic are in line to face each other in the semifinals should they win their quarterfinal matches.
In doubles play, the team of Kuharic and Felipe Diaz advanced through two more rounds, defeating the team from Saint Louis, 8-0, the dropped the duo from Oklahoma in the quarterfinals, 8-3.
Competition continues Sunday at 9 a.m. with quarterfinal singles matches immediately followed by singles and doubles semifinal action.
