Cowgirl Basketball Set To Travel To Kansas

Oklahoma State's women's basketball team (8-10 overall, 3-4 Big 12) will look to extend its winning streak to three games when it heads north for a 7 p.m. tilt against Kansas (8-9, 1-5) on Saturday in Lawrence. OSU is coming off a 74-59 win over Iowa State on Wednesday, while the Jayhawks will be looking to snap a four-game losing skid.
SCOUTING THE JAYHAWKS
The Jayhawks are coming off a 76-49 home loss on Jan. 24 to Missouri and last won on Jan. 10 against the Tigers for their lone conference win. At home, KU is 4-3 overall and 0-3 in Big 12 play. Sophomore Crystal Kemp paces the squad in the scoring column, checking in at 14.2 points per game. Junior Aquanita Burras is also averaging double figures at 10.9 points per outing. Freshman Lauren Ervin is the Jayhawks' top rebounder, pulling 6.8 caroms per game.
OSU has won the last two meetings against the Jayhawks, claiming a 60-56 victory last season and a 73-48 triumph two years ago in Allen Fieldhouse. KU holds a 25-18 lead in the all-time series, including an 11-7 mark at home. OSU has never won consecutive road games in the series and will be looking to win three consecutive in the series for the first time since a four-game stretch spanning the 1990-91 conference seasons.

The Cowgirls will travel to College Station, Texas to take on Texas A&M Wednesday at 7 p.m. OSU won the first meeting this season on Jan. 7, picking up a 67-65 victory in its conference opener. OSU holds a 19-6 advantage in the series against the Aggies and has won the last six meetings in Reed Arena.

Oklahoma State's women's basketball team defeated Iowa State, 74-59, on Wednesday night in front of 3,287 fans inside Gallagher-Iba Arena, giving the Cowgirls their first back-to-back conference wins under head coach Julie Goodenough. OSU raced out to a 42-21 lead in the first half after shooting 52 percent, including a 6-of-7 effort from the three-point line. The Cowgirls also dished out 15 assists and only turned the ball over four times in the period. Meanwhile, the Cyclones could never get on track offensively, hitting 32 percent from the floor and connecting on 9-of-31 (29 percent) from beyond the arc. Trisha Skibbe fueled OSU during its stretch run, scoring 13 of her game-high 17 points in the second half. Freshman Destanie Sykes added a career-high 10 points, while fellow freshman Christian Hood came off the bench to add 13 points and eight rebounds.
