Cowgirl Basketball Set To Host Iowa State

Oklahoma State's women's basketball team (7-10 overall, 2-4 Big 12) will look to win consecutive conference games for the first time since the 2001-02 seasonwhen it takes on Iowa State (9-7, 2-3) Wednesday at 7 p.m. in Stillwater. The Cowgirls are coming off a stunning 88-87 win over No. 3 Texas Tech on Saturday in double overtime, while the Cyclones will be looking to rebound from a 62-51 home loss to Colorado on Sunday.
SCOUTING THE CYCLONES
The Cyclones head to Stillwater in search of head coach Bill Fennelly's 350th career win. ISU is also looking for its first conference win away from Hilton Coliseum. The Cyclones won their season opener on the road at Cleveland State and have since lost four straight away from home. ISU is led in scoring by Anne O'Neil (13.1 ppg). The junior guard also leads the team with 26 steals and 76 assists. The Cyclones have five players averaging at least eight points per outing and are the league's top free-throw shooting squad at 76 percent. ISU holds conference wins over Texas Tech and Oklahoma against losses to Nebraska, Texas and Colorado. ISU won last year's meeting, 79-55, in Ames and has won seven of the last eight, however, OSU holds a 22-17 advantage in the all-time series. The contest will also mark the return of former Cowgirl assistant coach Jack Easley to Stillwater where he served for 19 seasons.
UP NEXT
The Cowgirls will head north for a 7 p.m. tilt against Kansas on Saturday in Lawrence. OSU has won the last two meetings against the Jayhawks, claiming a 60-56 victory last season and a 73-48 triumph two years ago in Allen Fieldhouse. KU holds a 25-18 lead in the all-time series, including an 11-7 mark at home.

The Cyclones are the first unranked opponent for OSU since its conference opener against Texas A&M ... Trisha Skibbe enters the contest three blocks away from becoming just the second player in school history to record at least 100 career blocks ... Skibbe is also six points away from moving into sole possession of the No. 5 spot on the school's all-time scoring list ... OSU last won back-to-back Big 12 games in 2001-02 with a win over Texas A&M in the regular-season finale before beating the Aggies in the Big 12 Tournament ... the Cowgirls have used a different starting lineup in five consecutive contests.
LAST TIME OUT
Nicole Campbell hit a jumper from just inside the 3-point line with less than 30 seconds left in the second overtime period, leading Oklahoma State to an 88-87 upset of No. 3 Texas Tech on Saturday. Nina Stone scored 20 of her 30 points after halftime, including four 3-pointers, and finished with seven assists for the Cowgirls (7-10, 2-4 Big 12). Center Trisha Skibbe added 14 points. Oklahoma State rallied from an eight-point deficit in the last 12 minutes of the second half. The Cowgirls led by four points with 30 seconds left in the first overtime before Texas Tech tied the game at 81. In the second overtime, Oklahoma State overcame a late four-point deficit and went ahead to stay on Campbell's long jumper with 25.6 seconds left. Tech beat Oklahoma State 106-43 in the teams' first meeting, Jan. 10 in Lubbock, Texas.
