Last time out
Tony Allen scored a game-high 19 points, including two impressive driving layups as the game was winding down, and the Cowboys slipped past Colorado, 71-62, Wednesday night in Big 12 Conference action in Gallagher-Iba Arena. A crowd of 11,839 saw a 30-30 halftime tie, and the Buffaloes ahead by four at 54-50 after a 9-0 run by CU. However, Allen, who was 0-of-4 from long range, took control and led the Cowboys to victory. John Lucas had 15 points and five assists with no turnovers, his third game this season with at least three assists and no turnovers. The Pokes shot just 25.7 percent from the floor in the first half, but bounced back to shoot 15-of-27 in the second stanza. Oklahoma State also outrebounded the much taller Buffs, 41-36, and forced 19 CU turnovers. The Cowboys, who were 19-of-29 from the free-throw line, did make the last seven attempts from the charity stripe to seal the win. The OSU bench was vital in the victory, as the Cowboy bench outscored that of Colorado, 17-7, including six points each from Jason Miller and David Monds. Both were 3-of-4 from the field, and combined for nine rebounds in 27 minutes.
Lucas named Big 12 Conference Player of the Week

However, OSU has won four of the last 10 meetings, including last year's 82-77 victory in Stillwater. Texas won the last meeting in Austin, 78-65.
On the road
While Saturday's game against Texas will only be Oklahoma State's fourth true road test of the season, it will be the Cowboys' third Big 12 road game in two weeks. OSU is 2-1 in away contests so far this season, including a 15-point victory at Arkansas and a one-point win at Kansas State last Saturday. On the road, Tony Allen is averaging 15.3 points per contest, while John Lucas is scoring 13.7 points per game. Ivan McFarlin is scoring 11.3 points per game, and grabbing eight rebounds per contest, as is Allen.
Offensive dominance

Ivan ranks among school's best
Foward Ivan McFarlin, who grabbed double-figure rebounds in back-to-back games against Southeastern State and Arkansas, ranks among the best rebounders of all-time in OSU history. He became the 12th player in school history to record 600 boards when he grabbed eight vs. Colorado Wednesday night. He also moved into 11th place on the all-time rebounding list in that game. He needs 58 rebounds to move past Andre Williams and into 10th place on the school career list.
