Matt Prentice Set to Play in the Davis Cup

AUCKLAND, New Zealand Â— Former Oklahoma State Tennis Player Matt Prentice was named to the 2004 New Zealand Davis Cup team by first-year captain Bruce Derlin.

Prentice, a Wellington, New Zealand native, was part of the World Team Tennis National Collegiate Champions in 2001. He played with Fran Krepelka, Linda Faltynkova and Katya Kolodynska.

Prentice went 9-9 in the No. 1 singles position his senior year at Oklahoma State and was named to the All-Big 12 singles and doubles team. He won the Big 12 No. 1 doubles championship with Krepelka going 14-6 that season.

Simon Rea, a senior at Tennessee, Daniel King Turner and Mark Nielson join Prentice on the team. Adam Thompson will serve as the fifth non-playing member of the team.
