Cowgirl Basketball Set To Take On Kansas State

Oklahoma State's women's basketball team (6-7 overall, 1-1 Big 12) will look to rebound from Saturday's loss at top-ranked Texas Tech when No. 11/12 Kansas State (11-2 overall, 2-0 Big 12) comes calling on Tuesday for a 7 p.m. contest. The Wildcats are coming off a 76-69 win at Colorado over the weekend.
SCOUTING THE WILDCATS
Kansas State will be the second consecutive ranked foe for the Cowgirls and the second Top 25 opponent OSU has faced in Stillwater this year. With their win over CU, the Wildcats ran their winning streak to nine games. K-State is outscoring its opponents by more than 23 points and outrebounding the opposition by more than 12 boards a game. Three players, Kendra Wecker, Nicole Ohlde and Laurie Koehn are all averaging over 15 points a game for head coach Deb Patterson's squad. K-State is 3-1 on the road this season with its lone setback coming in the season opener at Purdue. The Cowgirls hold a 25-22 advantage all-time against the Wildcats, including a 12-7 margin at home. The Wildcats won last season's matchup, 64-46, in Manhattan. However, OSU upset then-No. 9 K-State, 68-60, two years ago in the last meeting between the two squads in Stillwater.

The Cowgirls will travel to Norman to take on in-state rival Oklahoma at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 17. The two squads have met in the Bedlam Series 71 times with the Sooners holding a 37-34 advantage after winning the last nine meetings. OSU's last win in the series came in 1999 at the Big 12 Tournament.

The Wildcats are the second of five consecutive nationally-ranked opponents for the Cowgirls ... an OSU win would be their second conference home win of the season, matching last year's total ... Trisha Skibbe enters the contest 10 rebounds shy of tying Jamie Seiss for fourth on the school's career rebounding chart and one double-double away from tying Seiss for third all-time in school history.

Natalie Ritchie scored a career-high 27 points and made a school-record eight 3-pointers to lead No. 2 Texas Tech over Oklahoma State 106-43 Saturday night. Ritchie's final 3-pointer, with 7:10 remaining, gave Tech (15-0, 1-0 Big 12) an 88-38 lead. The Lady Raiders scored 29 straight points in the first half to go up 33-4 and led 54-14 at halftime. Oklahoma State (6-7, 1-1) got no closer than 40 points after that. Trisha Skibbe and Christian Hood led the Cowgirls with 13 points each. Eliz Gomes finished with 11. Tech set a school record with 14 3-pointers. Ritchie connected on 10 consecutive 3-pointers dating to the Lady Raiders' last game, but her streak ended midway through the second half when she had an attempt blocked. She finished 8-of-10. Tech's largest lead was 63, on two occasions, the last with 16.8 seconds left on two free throws by Brooke Baughman.
