July 24, 2003 | Cowboy Basketball
STILLWATER, Okla. - The Oklahoma State men's basketball team squares off against Texas A&M on Saturday as the Cowboys try to give head coach Eddie Sutton the 600th coaching victory of his career.
A number of general-admission tickets are available for the contest, which tips off at 12:45 p.m. in Gallagher-Iba Arena. Fans may purchase tickets by calling the OSU athletic ticket office at 405-744-5745 or 1-800-522-6858.
Sutton, in his 28th year of collegiate coaching would become the 20th coach in Division I history to win 600 games, and he will try to join only six coaches - Denny Crum, Bob Knight, Adolph Rupp, Dean Smith, Jerry Tarkanian and John Wooden - who have reached the 600-win mark in 28 or fewer seasons.
The Cowboys, 12-3 overall and 2-3 in Big 12 play, defeated the Aggies 100-65 on Jan. 3 in College Station, Texas. OSU will be trying to return to the .500 mark in conference play before hitting the road for a pair of tough games next week.
OSU visits in-state rival Oklahoma on Monday in an 8:30 p.m. ESPN telecast before traveling to Austin, Texas, on Jan. 31 to face the Longhorns.
