Cowboys Top Sooners 70-66

STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) -- Brett Robisch scored 19 points and backup Brian Montanati scored six in the final two minutes as Oklahoma State beat Oklahoma 70-66 Saturday to forge a tie for the Big 12 South Division lead.
Montanati, averaging only 3.2 points and 7.1 minutes per game, hit a driving layup with 2:01 left to cap a 6-0 run and give the Cowboys a 61-57 lead. Montanati also sank four foul shots in the final 25 seconds to keep the Sooners from tying.
Oklahoma (17-8, 8-4) got 28 points from Corey Brewer, 19 in the second half. Robert Allison added 12 points and Ryan Humphrey 10.
Oklahoma State (18-4, 8-4) also got 13 points from Joe Adkins, 12 from Adrian Peterson and 11 from Desmond Mason.
The Sooners shot 56 percent from the field compared with the Cowboys' 39 percent, but Oklahoma was outrebounded 35-24. Robisch and Peterson each had 9 rebounds.
Oklahoma State scored the first nine points of the second half to take a 40-32 lead, but the Cowboys then went more than seven minutes without a point. The Sooners scored 14 straight, the final three by Brewer, to lead 49-44.
A technical foul against Robisch - his fourth personal - spurred the rally and sent him to the bench for three minutes. But Mason and Peterson made 3-pointers to get Oklahoma close, and Adkins' 3-point play with 5:17 left tied it at 53-53.
Mason fouled out with 3:51 to go, and Humphrey's ensuing two foul shots gave Oklahoma its last lead, 61-57.
Brewer and Peterson traded 3-pointers, and the final minute became a foul shooting test for the Cowboys. Montonati went 4-for-4 and Chad Alexander 2-for-2.
Oklahoma scored the final five points of the first half to lead 32-31 at halftime. The Sooners led 24-17, but the Cowboys went on a 14-3 run, with Robisch and Adkins each scoring five points.
