Cowgirls Put Away Indians, 79-49

Five Cowgirls scored in double figures, including 15 by both Cheri Edwards and Jennifer Crow. Freshman center Devon Magness added 14 points on 7-of-8 shooting. Edwards also had 12 rebounds, marking the fifth double-double of her career.
"We played awfully good in the second half," said OSU Coach Dick Halterman. "They didn't shoot the ball very well, but we did well on the defensive end. We rebounded well and we made some shots."
Arkansas State scored just 23 points in the second half, thanks in part to a 21.6 percent shooting performance in the second stanza. In fact, the Indians scored just two points in the by the 11:20 mark and had scored just nine points in the second half by the 6:20 mark.
"That 15-2 run was a good way to start the second half," said Halterman. "When we held them to two points, eight or nine minutes into the second half, after that, the game was over."
Halterman is now 14-1 in season openers in his career at Oklahoma State, including 14 consecutive.
Oklahoma State will return to action on Friday, Nov. 21, as the Cowgirls take on the Lousiana State Tigers in the first round of the Hawaiian Regent Classic in Honolulu, Hawaii. Tipoff is set for 9 p.m. central time.
