Cowgirls Open 1999-2000 Basketball Season
June 09, 2003 | Cowgirl Basketball
Oklahoma State's Cowgirl basketball team began the 1999-2000 season today with a pair of two-hour long practices, including 14 scholarship players and five walk-ons. The morning slate was defense related, including full-court one-on-one, some man-to-man and zone.
The evening practice, which from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m., was primarily offense based, including full-court, half-court and free-throw drills.
The coaching staff commented that it went pretty well, but there was a lot of room for improvement.
Tari Cummings, the junior-college All-American from Westark Community College, dislocated her right thumb with 30 minutes remaining in the morning session, but returned for the evening practice and made some nice plays.
The Cowgirls will return to practice on Sunday at 4:30 p.m. and will practice at 5 p.m. each day this week.
