June 09, 2003 | Cowgirl Basketball
The Cowgirls (1-1) are coming off a 77-62 setback at the hands of the Illinois Fighting Illini Wednesday night in the second round of the Preseason Women's NIT. OSU's win was a 73-55 victory over Northern Iowa in the first round of that tournament on Monday.
Oklahoma State is led by three players that are averaging double-figure scoring. Senior Jennifer Crow is averaging 16 points and 8.5 rebounds per game; junior Tari Cummings is averaging 17 points and eight rebounds per game; and sophomore Kara Faulk is averaging 11.5 points and 8.5 boards per contest.
This game will mark the third meeting between these two schools on the hardwood, with OSU winning all three games. The last time OSU played Lamar, out of Beaumont, Texas, was in January of 1990, when the Cowgirls picked up an 83-66 win.
