Cowgirls Fall In Overtime, 68-66

LSU's Latasha Dorsey hit a running three-point shot with two defenders in her face with 0:00.3 left in regulation, tying the score at 60-60. Sophomore Jennifer Crow had put the Cowgirls up, 60-57, with five seconds left on a pair free throws after being fouled by LSU's April Brown while driving the lane.
The tournament, hosted by the University of Hawai'i, chose to use the four- quarter format as implemented by the NCAA as an experiment this season. The game consisted of four, 10-minute quarters. Oklahoma State led, 16-8, after the first quarter, but 25th-ranked LSU outscored OSU, 26-8, in the second stanza, including an 8-0 run in the final 2:45 of the first half. The Tigers led, 34-24 at halftime.
Oklahoma State came out strong in the second half, led by freshman Devon Magness' 10 second-half points. Crow scored 11 in the second half after scoring just three in the first. Magness finished with a game-leading 17 points.
Both Renee Roberts and Cheri Edwards each scored 10 points, but Roberts left the game with 6 minutes left in the third quarter after opening a cut over her right eye after a collision with LSU's Dorsey. Roberts later returned and scored four more points in regulation before fouling out with 3:25 left.
The Cowgirls fell to 1-1 on the season, and will play St. Bonaventure Sunday at 4 p.m. HST. The Bonnies lost to Hawai'i, 83-45, in Friday's other matchup.
