Cowgirls Down Washington For Tournament Title

Cummings scored her 33 points, a career high, on 14-of-18 shooting from the floor. She also pulled down a game-high 15 rebounds for her sixth double-double of the season. Senior Jennifer Crow scored 22 points and was perfect from the line, going 9-of-9. She was also named to the all-tournament team.
The Cowgirls took an early five-point lead in the game, but the Huskies quickly came back, thanks to four straight points by Loree Payne. UW then pulled away in the first half, getting up by as many as 14 points before going into the lockerroom ahead 45-33.
The Huskies continued to trade baskets with the Cowgirls to start the second half, and maintained the 12-point lead with 15:29 remaining in the game. Oklahoma State cut the lead to six, and then tied the game when freshman Chantoya Hawkins hit a pair of free throws to make the socre 61-61.
OSU pulled away at that point, 14 consecutive free throws. Meanwhile, the Huskies, who had hit six threes in the game, missed on all three attempts in the final two minutes of the game.
Oklahoma State (7-3) will travel to Charleston, W. Va. for a Dec. 31st contest with the West Virginia Mountaineers. Game time is set for 11 a.m. CST.
