Cowgirl Basketball Adds Chareka Terry To Recruiting Class
May 02, 2003 | Cowgirl Basketball
Chareka Terry brings much needed athleticism to our team and will be a tremendous rebounder and defender for us, Cowgirl Head Coach Julie Goodenough said. She is a great addition that comes from a winning program.
Terry, a 5-11 forward, led the Lady Busters to a 31-7 mark overall and a 13-3 conference record as well as a fourth-place finish at the national tournament. The Plano, Texas native played in all 38 of Garden Citys games last season, averaging 17.0 points and 5.9 rebounds per contest.
Named Region VIs Player of the Year, Terry was also named a first-team All-Jayhawk West Conference selection and was tabbed by the All-Star Girls Report as the 10th-best power forward prospect in the country and the No. 61 player overall.
In addition to Terry, the Cowgirls have signed shooting guard Shyra Samuels, point guard Nina Stone and forward Lynsie Tischhauser during the spring signing period.
